PO MOHAMAD SAID: SAFE COP REWARD

MORGANVILLE, NEW JERSEY: On July 21st, 2024, at approximately 1130 hrs. a rookie Melvindale, Michigan Police Officer was shot and killed while struggling with a man who was reportedly acting suspicious near a car wash. Melvindale Police Officer Mohamad Said, age 23, was allegedly gunned down by 44-year-old suspect Michael Lopez, who fled on a green bicycle. The suspect has a criminal history that includes assaults and burglaries and may have been on parole at the time of the officer’s murder.

Retired ATF Special Agent in Charge John DeVito along with Safe Cop Coordinator, retired Lieutenant Karl Milligan have contacted the office of Melvindale Police Chief Robert Kennaley to post a $10,000 Safe Cop reward for information leading up to the arrest and conviction of Lopez. A total of $37,500 in reward money is currently offered for information that leads to Lopez, who is 6 feet, 1 inch tall, and weighs 245 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
