In 2005, the NPDF established a medical fund for the two-year old daughter of a New Jersey State Trooper who was battling “Cerebral Dysgenesis”, a severe brain malformation. The fund was established in hopes of helping the family renovate their home to make it wheel chair accessible, as well as pay for outstanding medical bills not covered by medical insurance. The NPDF’s efforts were successful in securing much needed donations and contractors to perform the needed home renovations. The NPDF donated approximately $75, 000 out of its own endowment to pay for the home renovations. |
