In 2002, the NPDF commissioned world-renowned Italian American Sculptor Franco Minervini who created the “September 11th Police Memorial” that is now located in Orange County, New York to honor the police heroes killed during the September 11th terrorist attack. It marks the first September 11th Police Memorial in the New York City area to honor the memories of these police officials and one K-9 police dog killed in that terrorist attack.
