The National Police Defense Foundation (NPDF) welcomed more than 600 supporters, law enforcement professionals, elected officials, community leaders, and distinguished guests to its 2026 Annual Awards Dinner on May 6, 2026, at Russo’s On The Bay in Howard Beach, New York. The sold-out event marked another successful evening of honoring individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to public safety while raising critical funds to support the Foundation’s charitable programs.
As NPDF’s premier annual fundraiser, the event supports vital programs and services including the Safe Cop Program, Operation Kids, scholarships, and other initiatives that benefit law enforcement officers, children, and communities nationwide.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Woman of the Year Award to Hon. Alina Habba, Senior Advisor to the U.S. Attorney General. Habba was recognized for her leadership, dedication, and service. The Businesswoman of the Year Award was presented to Kellyanne Conway, Founder of KALConsulting, LLC, honoring her accomplishments in business, communications, and public service.
Additional distinguished honorees included Sean M. Curran, Director of the United States Secret Service, who received the Man of the Year Award; Francis J. Russo of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, who was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award; Sgt. Vincent Vallelong, President of the NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association, who received the President’s Award; Kyle S. Reyes, CEO of Law Enforcement Today Magazine, who received the Excellence in Media Award; and Commander Anthony Lordo Jr. of the United States Park Police, who was honored as Member of the Year.
Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed Russo’s renowned hospitality while celebrating the achievements of the honorees and reaffirming their commitment to supporting the men and women of law enforcement. The overwhelming turnout reflected the continued growth of the Foundation and the strong support for its mission.
For more than two decades, the National Police Defense Foundation’s Annual Awards Dinner has brought together leaders from law enforcement, government, business, media, and the community to recognize outstanding service and raise funds for programs that make a difference across the nation. The success of the 2026 event would not have been possible without the generosity of sponsors, journal advertisers, donors, volunteers, and attendees whose support helps advance the Foundation’s mission year-round.
The National Police Defense Foundation extends its congratulations to all of the 2026 honorees and sincere appreciation to everyone who helped make this year’s Awards Dinner a memorable and successful evening.
